Thurston delivers a New Accommodation Building at the CATS Gas Processing Terminal on Teesside
Thurston Group Limited is pleased to announce the handover of a £3 million Ultrablast blast resistant accommodation building supplied to the CATS Gas Processing Terminal. Engineered and constructed to comply with specific blast and radiant heat design requirements, the project was completed ahead of schedule with zero safety incidents.
The official handover of the building took place on Thursday 18 August 2016 between Jonathan Petch, CEO and Steve Hodges, Commercial Director of Thurstons and Andy Pearson of Wood Group. Thurstons are delighted to have worked with Wood Group in the delivery of this project.
Thurston is the largest manufacturer of Ultrablast resistant buildings in the UK. These blast resistant buildings have been developed to provide a high degree of safety for the user and meet the challenges faced by those working in hazardous situations.
Our all steel Ultrablast range includes standalone cabins or larger blast resistant buildings including control rooms, offices, canteens and toilet and shower blocks. These anti-blast buildings are specifically designed to maximise the safety of your staff and fully comply with the stringent anti-blast regulations specified by the global operatives and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Ultrablast accommodation is available in a wide range of sizes or can be built to your specification. We design our blast resistant buildings to your exact measurement requirements and standards.
The Ultrablast product has set new, ground breaking standards for both safety and comfort and is able to withstand a force of up to 1000 millibar over pressure for 100 milliseconds – the equivalent of exerting an 80-ton force.
